Regional Sales Representative

Position Summary

Designs in, promotes and sells Central's discrete semiconductors to OEMs, ODMs, and CMs, in an assigned territory by performing the following duties.

Key Position Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a clear technical understanding of Central Semiconductor's product offering and the semiconductor industry.
  • Provides information on Central’s products to customers and representatives, both verbally and in writing, with a high degree of competency.
  • Displays and demonstrates Central's products, using catalog, samples, computer presentations, and other promotional materials, to emphasize salable features.
  • Develops lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from magazines, newspapers, representatives, the internet, business directories, representatives, and other sources.
  • Identifies target accounts and target markets, in conjunction with the Sales Manager, Marketing Manager, representatives, and others.
  • Consistently makes an adequate number of telephone calls to prospective customers to develop sales leads into new customers and to maintain existing business.
  • Consistently develops target number of new accounts in assigned territory on an ongoing basis and maintains and grows business at existing accounts.
  • Routinely contacts existing customers in assigned territory by telephone, email, fax, and in person, to introduce new products, to help solve customers’ problems, and in general, to sell and promote Central's discrete semiconductors.
  • Quotes prices to customers in assigned territory and processes orders and changes.
  • Makes product recommendations based on customers’ needs, in conjunction with the Sales Manager, Marketing Manager, and/or VP Sales and Marketing.
  • Responds to customer complaints, requests for product information, and technical assistance and follows up with Engineering, Quality, etc., to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Acts as liaison between customers and Engineering, Quality, Materials and other departments to resolve technical problems, manage delivery issues, and other customer matters.
  • Regularly travels to assigned territory to visit existing and prospective customers alone, with representatives, or with Sales or Marketing Managers.
  • Monitors activities of representatives in their assigned territory, analyzing input received and other feedback from their monthly reports and communicates this information to the Sales and Marketing Managers on a routine basis.
  • Holds representatives accountable for bringing in a satisfactory level of sales leads and new inquiries.
  • Tracks customers' project timelines for new designs to ensure timely follow-up and design-ins.
  • Staffs booth at designated Trade Shows in assigned territory and other areas, as needed.
  • Prepares annual account base expansion plans and monthly activity plans/reports for Sales Manager.

Position Requirements


Required
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and an Associates degree or a minimum of sixty college credits; and 7 years minimum inside technical sales experience, with at least 3 in the semiconductor industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred
Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university in engineering (other than BSEE or BSET), business or marketing; greater than 7 years of inside technical sales experience; greater than 3 years inside sales experience in the semiconductor industry; experience with discrete semiconductors or electronic components; experience with ISO9001:2000, are all preferred.
